School years 2 to 6 — U7s to U11s. Players are split into two groups: Pre-Academy for years 2 and 3, and Academy for years 4, 5 and 6. School year means the year group your child is in during the September before the camp.

This is not an all-abilities camp. It is for players in grassroots football at level 3 or above — that is levels 1, 2 and 3 — or already training with Star Soccer Academy. Everyone in the group has come in at that standard, which is what keeps the games competitive all week. If your child plays below level 3 and doesn't train with us, please don't book this one.

Then this camp is the wrong place to start, and we'd rather say so now than take the booking. The pace and the standard would be a hard four days for a beginner. We don't turn girls away, and any girl playing at level 3 or above is eligible. In practice these camps fill with boys, and being the only girl in a group of twenty isn't a week most players enjoy — so we'd rather you rang us on 07760 782 328 first and we'll be straight with you about whether she'd get what she wants out of it, or whether one of our other sessions suits her better.

Football boots and shin pads, a packed lunch with snacks and drinks, and clothing for the weather — it's an outdoor 3G pitch and they're on it most of the day. A positive mindset and a willingness to be coached does the rest.

Yes, and there's no charge for either. Drop-off opens at 8:40am for a 9:00am start, and you can collect any time up to 3:00pm after the 2:45pm finish. You don't need to book it or tell us in advance.

Bring a packed lunch, plus snacks and plenty to drink — nothing is provided and there's no shop on site. Because lunch comes from home, allergies stay in your hands; tell us about anything we should know on the booking form and we'll make sure the coaches are aware.

One coach to 10 players. Each group takes 20 — Pre-Academy for school years 2 and 3, Academy for years 4, 5 and 6 — so a full group has two coaches on it, and there are never more than 40 players on site. It also means places are genuinely limited: once a group is full for a day, it's full.

The camp runs. Every session is on the 3G pitch at Kirby Muxloe FC, so rain doesn't stop us — send them in the right kit and they'll be fine. We'd only ever call a day off for genuinely unsafe conditions such as lightning or ice, and if that happens we'll contact you directly.
